JAN GUNNAR HOFF – SOLO PIANO - A personal and meditative concept
Jan Gunnar Hoff has developed a solo program and performed in Norway, Russia, Italy, Kirgisistan and Kazakhstan. His solo concerts are meditative, yet with a content of composition and creative improvisation. A solo piano album, LIVING has been recorded by Morten Lindberg and 2L for release March 2013, YouTube preview and 2L info.
JAN GUNNAR HOFF / MIKE STERN PROJECT - World class collaboration
The collaboration between Hoff and guitar legend Mike Stern (w/Miles Davis a.o) started in 2006 with the composition “Magma”, comissioned by Nordland Music Festival. In 2007 and 2008 the Jan Gunnar Hoff Group toured with Stern in Ukraine and Estonia. In 2008 the CD “Magma” feat. Mike Stern, Mathias Eick, Audun Kleive a.o. was released. January 2013 Hoff & Stern is touring Norway in a new quartet setting.
MEDITATUS - A jazz mass for mixed choir and band
Jan Gunnar Hoff performs as a piano soloist in this popular composition for choir and jazz band. Meditatus was written for Bodø Cathedral Choir (Bodø Domkor) in 2004 and received the prestigious Edvard Grieg -prize in 2006. Meditatus has been performed in Norway by many choirs and also on Iceland, in Canada, USA a.o. The jazz mass was recorded in 2007 by Bodø CC and in 2010 on CD and DVD in Riga, Latvia by the reknown choir Fortius (photo).
ACUNA/HOFF/MATHISEN - Powerful international trio
This incredible versatile trio was founded in 2008. It’s the legendary drummer/ percussionist Alex Acuna meeting two of Norway’s leading jazz musicians, Jan Gunnar Hoff on keys and Per Mathisen on upright and electric bass. The trio has played gigs in a.o Stockholm, Lima, NYC, LA, Zagreb. Debut CD 2009 “Jungle City”, DVD from Drumchannel, Los Angeles 2011.
HOFF/MAZUR/JORMIN/HENRIKSEN - A Nordic project with leading performers

This exciting new line up had it´s debut at Bodø Jazz Open 2012, performing Hoff´s piece “Living”, comissioned by the festival. A melodic journey, yet with expressive improvisations and contributions from outstanding Nordic performers Mazur, Jormin and Henriksen. The band has performed in Bodø and at Maijazz 2012, plans for a recording in 2013 exist.
NORTH EAST/NORTH WEST - Russian/Norwegian “etno jazz” concept
This is a project based on compositions by Jan Gunnar Hoff and Roger Ludvigsen (guitar w/Mari Boine a.o), in a Norwegian / Russian line up. The debut concert took place at the Northern festival Smeltedigelen in Mo i Rana on October 24, 2012 with great success and acclaim. Plans for tour in Russia February 2013 exist, in addition to several Norwegian festivals, Summer 2013.
