Norwegian pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff is an official Steinway artist. He has a classical piano background and creates an original mix of jazz, classical and folklore in his highly appreciated solo performances. Hoff has performed solo in Russia, Italy, Kirgisistan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lituania, Latvia, Turkey and in the Nordic countries. In November 2020 Jan Gunnar Hoff was invited to perform two solo concerts in the National Opera House, Oslo. In September 2023 Hoff visited Estonia and Viimsi Artium, close to Tallinn, for a solo performance in their new concert hall (cover photo: Tiit Mõtus). So far Hoff has released 4 solo albums on the highly acknowledged and Grammy-winning label 2L: LIVING (2013), STILLE LYS (2014), STORIES (2016) and HOME (2022), a stereo and Dolby Atmos recording, now also available on vinyl (link to label 2L).
In 2020 Hoff performed solo October 22 at the Storm concert hall, Bodø and November 1, 2020 at the Oslo Opera house. He also did a streamed version of his QUIET LIGHT (Stille Lys) – program in December 2020:
Hoffs original material goes hand in hand with dedicated versions of folk tunes and classics like “God only knows” and “Barndomsminne”, Northern Norway´s national anthem. “Barndomsminne” has also been arranged for and performed with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra in August 2021, for Norwegian NRK TV, in beautiful Bø in Vesterålen (Click on the image below for link to the video).
