Norwegian pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff is a Steinway artist. He has performed solo in Russia, Italy, Kirgisistan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lituania, Latvia, Turkey and in the Nordic countries. Hoff´s solo concerts are meditative and improvised, yet with a core of composition. Hoff has a classical piano background and creates an original mix of jazz, classical and folklore in his highly appreciated solo performances. Hoffs original material goes hand in hand with dedicated versions of folk tunes and classics like “God only knows” and “Barndomsminne” (Northern Norway´s national anthem). So far Hoff has released three solo albums on the highly acknowledged and Grammy-winning label 2L: LIVING (2013), STILLE LYS (2014) and STORIES (2016).
Hoff´s 4th solo piano album, HOME was released May 20, 2022, a stereo and Dolby Atmos recording with piano versions of several classic songs and themes, in addition to original material and improvisations (link to label 2L).
